Where the gap opens

Most farmers here already know how to grow.

What they're short of is water they can count on — rain that comes late, wells that run dry, no storage to carry a farm through the gap between seasons. The knowledge is already there. The infrastructure isn't.

How GEI approaches it

The same model, applied to water.

Every site is different, but the process that gets a community from unreliable rainfall to dependable water follows the same seven steps.

Understand the Barrier

Where yields are capped by water, not by know-how — and what's actually blocking reliable access: distance, cost, terrain, permits.

03–05

Design & Mobilise

The right-sized fix for the site — borehole, drip, storage, or a mix — brought in with drilling contractors, irrigation specialists, county water offices and financiers, then built to the site, not a standard template.

06–07

Build Capacity & Sustain

Training the people who'll operate and maintain it, then staying on long after handover — so the system outlives the project.
